Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) was established on october 15, 1974 under the provisions of Water Act, 1974. It has been established with the objective of better prevention and control of pollution through improved management of tools.
Moreover, it emphasizes on performance of environmental infrastructures to prevent and control the environmental pollution under programmes of Government of Gujarat “Swarnim Gujarat.” However, its primary function is to act as a regulatory body which is engaged in activities such as organization of several awareness programmes from time to time on local issues like municipal solid wastes, bio-medical wastes, plastic issues, rather than air, water, or land pollution created from different industrial sectors.

NOTE- If your industry neither falls under industrial area, nor under redevelopment area, the GPCB consent will be refused.
Industries under white category are not required to procure Consent to Establish or Consent to Operate. On the contrary, they must submit an undertaking online to GPCB within 30 days along with sending a signed replica of the undertaking.
