What is Software Certification?
Software certification by STQC is a third-party attestation that a software product or IT system has been tested and audited against defined requirements for functionality, security, performance and applicable government guidelines. STQC IT centres provide the testing and assessment, and the STQC certification body issues the certificate for certified schemes.
Documents depend on the scheme: application form, software or system documentation (requirements, design, user and development documents), internal functional and security test reports, application security report from STQC or a CERT-In empanelled agency and the schedule of charges. Applications go to the respective STQC IT centre with the consent of the certification body, as described for the Toll Management scheme. Fees and validity vary by scheme.
