What is STQC Certification?
STQC certification is third-party conformity assessment by the Government of India’s STQC Directorate confirming that an organisation’s management system, an IT or electronic product or an e-Governance system conforms to specified Indian or international standards or scheme rules. STQC says it became the first Indian-origin third-party certification agency in 1991 for QMS certification and in 1993 for safety certification.
Some STQC schemes are mandatory for specific programmes, for example Aadhaar biometric devices, NCMC and government websites, while others such as S-Mark are voluntary per one secondary source. Documents depend on the scheme: scheme-specific application form, certification agreement, manuals, test reports and fee. Fees are scheme-specific and the application fee is usually paid to the Pay and Accounts Officer, MeitY at the regional office.
