What is Form MD-6 (Loan License)?
A loan licence is a legal authorisation for an entity without its own manufacturing facility to have devices manufactured at the licensed premises of another manufacturer. Under the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, MD-6 covers Class A and B devices, while MD-10 covers Class C and D. The loan licensee is responsible for the product, labelling and quality alongside the host manufacturer.
