What is Pitch Deck?
A pitch deck is a concise, investor-facing presentation that tells the story of a startup: the customer problem, the product solution, how big the market is, how the business makes money, evidence that it works (traction), why the team can execute, key financials and how much money is being raised and for what. It is designed to win the next meeting, not to explain everything.
Seed decks are typically 10 to 12 slides, while Series A decks run up to about 15, with a longer appendix for diligence. Indian investor guidance mentions bottom-up market sizing, evidence-based traction, clear unit economics, an ask tied to milestones and a full-time founding team. Common mistakes include too many slides or text, top-down market maths, unclear revenue paths, unrealistic financials and asks without milestones.
