TRADEMARK CLASSIFICATION: PRODUCT AND SERVICE CLASSES

Classes 1-34: Product Classes

Classes 35-45: Service Classes

Trademark search
The first step to get a trademark registration online is to do a trademark search. This helps to choose a trademark which is new and that has been not registered previously.

Application
Then an application for trademark registration will be prepared by the Trademark registration attorney.

Class Selection
Determine the correct class(es) under which the trademark should be registered based on the nature of goods or services offered.

Document approval
Finally, the applicant is required to sign Form 48 that is required for approval of the attorney or any agency to execute the process on behalf of the owner. Form TM-A is the primary application form to be filled which is used to file a trademark application in India.

Application review
The application will be submitted along with the required documents, the registrar will examine whether the brand has complied with the specific terms or not.

Final approval stage
After clearing the examination, the brand name will be published in Indian Trade Marks Journals if there is no opposition to the chosen name within 120 days (from publication date). Then, the trademark will be registered.

If objections persist, a hearing is scheduled where the applicant presents arguments before the registrar to seek approval.
Accept and Advertise
