Indeed, MPCB board ensures to control, prevent, and abate the pollution with its complete power, in order to achieve established duties and functions, an industry is required to obtain Consent to Establish from the Maharashtra State Pollution Control Board.

However, we will discuss that in the latter part of the blog, first let’s see the industry categorization under MPCB.

Industrial Categorization Under MPCB

Similar to UPPCB and DPCC, industries under MPCB have been categorized into red, orange, green, and white categories. The industrial categorization has been done primarily on the basis of industrial size and consumption.

For clearly understanding, check below-mentioned table -

Red category industries have pollution index scores of 60 and above.

Orange category industries have pollution index scores of 41 to 59.

Green category industries have pollution index scores of 21 to 40.

White category industries have pollution index scores of incl. And upto 20.

So, understanding under which category your industry falls is essential to move forward to how to obtain a CTE under MPCB, including CTE requirements of other State/ UTs like Delhi, UP, etc. Now that we have discussed industrial categorization, let’s see what are the steps which you are required to take to obtain a CTE/CTO.

How to Obtain a CTE/CTO?

Registration will be done under the official portal of MPCB which will be done through One Time mobile verification and one time documenta verification.

Once the registration is done, an online application will be filed.

Thereafter, under “Document Pending,” four obligatory documents will be submitted, along with the payment of the required fee.

The SRO will assign the application to the Field officer to review the application and to push it through an Integrated Management Information System (IMIS).

The application will be Scruitized by Field Officer and factory inspection will be conducted.

Concerned authorities will scrutinize the application and if everything conforms to the established requirements, application will be granted in IMIS and a signed replica of CTE will be available on applicants profile.

Process to complete the MPCB is perplexing and challenging, because unlike DPCC (Delhi Pollution Control Committee) you are first required to register yourself on the MAITRI process, then to MPCB and further process goes on. Though it is an online process, yet, challenges a person can encounter while filing the application couldn’t be ignored.

JR Compliance has got you covered in regard to each aspect of the MPCB be it registration, documentation, coordination with officials - consider it done. To make our role in MPCB more clearer, let’s see what we will do to make CTE hassle-free for you.
