Agencia de Regulación y Control de las Telecomunicaciones (ARCOTEL) is a regulatory authority which has the authority to regulate and control the telecommunication equipment. It also monitors the radio spectrum frequencies to check whether it complies with the established parameters.
Some of the equipment which need ARCOTEL type approval before importing and commercialization are wireless products, telecommunication terminal equipment, cellular, satellite, and other equipment which falls under its purview.
Now, to check the compliance of products with parameters, a product testing may be conducted.
